Rowner sits within the Borough of Gosport and has been almost entirely rebuilt in the last twenty years, which makes it unlike anywhere else we cover.

A large estate of around a thousand flats, maisonettes and houses opened here in December 1966 for service personnel — locally nicknamed the Concrete Jungle. Most of it was demolished in the early twenty-first century under the Rowner Renewal Scheme, a £145 million programme that replaced it with modern housing and commercial space.

In practice that means most clearances here are in relatively new property: sensible access, driveways, wider doorways, and volume mattering more than manoeuvring. Where older stock remains, it needs a different plan, so it helps to say which you are in.
